User Experience Designer

Job Purpose 

This position is a user experience designer who is passionate about usability, customer satisfaction, user experience and design.  The UX designer works with multidisciplinary teams to develop great user experiences across RAC.  This position works with software architects, developers, project managers, business analysts, customers and  Marketing business owners to develop world-class digital experiences.  The incumbent will evaluate and design user interfaces and interactions across digital properties, while developing prototypes to ensure engaging and consistent user experiences. 
Serve in an overall user experience design capacity working with project teams to build an optimal and engaging user experience for consumer and business facing applications.  The User Experience Designer is responsible for maintaining RAC’s UX/UI standards across multiple digital properties while working within the framework of established architectures and standards. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Consults with product owners and stakeholders as a lead user experience designer
  • Identifies user requirements by researching and analyzing user needs, preferences and objectives
  • Plans information architecture and user experience by studying the architecture, strategy and target audience while creating user scenarios, workflow diagrams, interactive designs, flow maps and storyboards
  • Implements user experience through the creation of wireframes, interactive prototypes and high fidelity mockups while working with development teams
  • Updates knowledge by researching web design, interactive design, app design and usability
  • Researches user technology trends and contributes to innovation at RAC
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor"s degree in related field (web design, interaction design, etc.)
  • Minimum (5) years’ experience in user experience design for software and web applications
  • Self-directed, flexible contributor with the ability to learn quickly
  • Experience with ecommerce and retail point of sale a plus
  • Strong ability to define exceptional digital customer experiences
  • Interest in and familiarity with user experience methodologies
  • Solid understanding of GUI for maximizing usability in adaptive, responsive, multi-language applications
  • Knowledge of cross-browser and cross-platform issues
  • Strong working knowledge of design software (i.e. Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
  • Experience with Axure or equivalent prototyping tool
  • Strong knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Familiarity with iOS and Android mobile platforms and interface guidelines a plus
  • Experience with office productivity tools such as Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Project Server
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers and subject matter experts with strong presentation skills
  • Able to multi-task with strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Experience with Agile Methodology and/or working on Scrum teams is a plus
  • Must be self-motivated, independent, resourceful and a demonstrated leader who is capable of being objective and giving/taking constructive feedback
